Prison Volunteers' Community

Want To Volunteer?

You may sign up with one of the volunteer organisations that is registered with Prisons. These organisations are our partners and they provide various programmes to the inmates, including religious and social programmes.

By registering through these organisations, your needs and aspirations as a volunteer could be better served by closer volunteer-inmate matching and mutual support among fellow volunteers. Find out what are the registered volunteer organisations.

Alternatively, you may sign up with us directly as an individual. We will contact you once there is a suitable volunteering area.

If you wish to apply to be a Prison Volunteer, please select one of the following:
I want to sign up as a Prison Volunteer with one of the Volunteer Organisations.
I want to sign up as an individual Prison Volunteer.

Important things to note:

(1)  Our volunteers sacrifice their personal time to come into prisons to contribute to our rehabilitation efforts. We value our volunteers but we reiterate that a Prison or Drug Rehabilitation Centre (DRC) is a gazetted security area. Safety and security is paramount in prisons and a volunteer would be taken to task if he/she commits/facilitates the commission of any act prejudicial to good order, inmate discipline, safety and security of Prisons.

(2)  Please be informed that you are required to complete Basic Volunteer Training which consists of 3 weekday evening sessions if you are short-listed for Prison volunteering.
